MMNS Online, WebMD Practice Services

MMNS Online is the web front-end to a Progress 4GL Relational database which manages medical provider enrollment data for services and carriers, billing, transaction mining, and data-warehouse reporting for Medical Managers’s Practice Services unit, also known as WebMD Practice Services, but now known as Emdeon Practice Services. The MMNS Online web site was used by 1,500 employees and independent vendors across the country to enter enrollment data (adds, changes, and deletes) for each doctor as they applied for 60+ different electronic services and over 2000+ carriers. The sophisticated enrollment system contained a rules-driven validation system, enrollment batching with full tracking and approval processing, complete with dynamically-generated online reports for over 180,000 providers in over 30,000 practices with as many as 3,000 providers each. The most component which may have saved the company the most money was the PDF forms-generation system, which automatically populated 2- to 30-page carrier-enrollment forms with database field data.
